I think it's to show how she was thrown away without a care that even her face isn't defined as if she's not a worth remembering. Her importance will be in possibly shanks & shamrock reflecting on her and seeing her as an actual person unlike their father. I don't believe every "mystery" must be this big reveal like that she's actually Joyboys descendant or some shit.
