>Is anime dead?
Well, I have been mostly reading light novels and manga for the past several years, so there is that.

Crunchyroll is already doing full hardsubbing in multiple languages for devices that can't do ASS rendering. The solution I'm proposing in regards to hardsubbing is about just hardsubbing the typesetting, which means you would only need to store multiple copies for the video segments that actually feature typesetting. And that would be quite efficient, actually.

>What makes you think they even care about "fansubber quality subs" when they're currently shoveling out the minimum viable product?
I don't expect the current executives to care, no. The point of me talking about fansub-level typesetting is about educating consumers and how they should demand better from services that they pay for. Because money is something that executives do actually care about. Things are never going to get better unless customers vocally demand for it, and refuse to give the services money if their demands aren't fulfilled.

I didn't have high expectations for the Reddit post myself, but I do consider them important for getting the word out on the article's existence. For that purpose, it seems to be doing well enough.
