As a veteran hunterchad from since 2006 (Animax) i can confirm it's because of the high intellect.
From all the HxH inspired manga CSM is easily the best and the closest to HxH in terms of rich and profound characters mixed with original storytelling. Tokyo Ghoul was also great but only the first part (the manga of, the anime is atrocious).
Fujimoto and Ishida are Togashi's most advanced disciples.
