If that were true, then artists like Jeff Koons haven't been artists for decades. Koons conceives the ideas, oversees the process, and employs teams of specialized craftspeople to fabricate his works. He never touches the work himself but still directs others on how his vision should be displayed. Yet his pieces sell for tens of millions and hang in major museums.

I don't think how art is made really matters as long as there's intent behind it. If Koons can be an artist without ever touching a brush, then someone guiding an AI model toward a deliberate artistic vision absolutely still is one.
