Yeah I thought that was possible as well, did Yura know that Sword Saint and Chihiro were family before this chapter? If so maybe he's letting Chihiro live so he could threaten Akemura with killing Chihiro if he doesn't do what he wants? Or if Akemura didn't go along with what he wanted he could use Chihiro to defeat him since Akemura might not fight back considering Chihiro is his nephew?
