I did read your post, but there's no such thing as "no spin on them". If you are from memory reenacting a trick, you are performing it in your own way, even if it's wooden or you stick to what you saw.

It's like how singing a cover without a spin is still performing a song.

And as the other anon pointed out, this is usually how people start getting creative, you take baby step first. You sing a bunch of covers before you start giving them more of a twist or writing your own songs. You can't just go from never attempting anything to mastering an art form. It is quite possible that her doing these tricks she saw is step 1 to branching out and thinking of her own stuff - but that won't happen if people make her feel like she should be ashamed for not being "creative enough". If you ask me the contrast between just watching the videos and trying to do that stuff irl is more significant than her doing a trick she saw vs doing her own trick. The fact that she didn't stop at watching but got inspired to give it a try is big.

All this said of course you are technically correct that it's hardly a creative accomplishment. But it sounds to me like she was just super proud to even dip her toe in and that is fair I think.
