Tall women have long legs and if you're submissive, it plays into the Amazonian goddess idea.
>you just want your relationship to fail?
A lot of things people are attracted to (e.g. guys loving women that dress and style quite sexy) do not necessarily bode well for a relationship. You feel attracted because it is sexually appealing to you. The cliche about bpd is that it's all really intense, passionate people. The whole idea of crazy girls fucking crazy good. Plus if you grew up with a bpd parent you are usually drawn to the familiarity without recognizing it.
>that's a spectrum, that makes no sense
Lots of things are a spectrum. Liking "small boobs" or "tall girls" is also a spectrum. You can still overall (usually) like it.
>cripples
Vulnerability, savior/hero complexes, some people are just generally intrigued by people being a little different physically. AFAIK people that like to fantasize about having limbs removed, are mostly drawn to the helpless aspect, like an extreme form of bondage where you literally cannot walk away anymore.
That said the line between fetishizing and just being open to something is also thin. A lot of the stuff people call fetishes is just a preference/turn on that is not considered very normal. And thank god (some) people are attracted to stuff that is not (just) mainstream. Otherwise, can you imagine being crippled and having to choose between people rejecting you or "putting up" with you, and diehard fetishists who lust over specifically your disability? Fortunately there's just a grey area where people can sexually enjoy this without being obsessed with it or being unable to get off on able-bodied folks.
