NTA but it's not that your request was horrific but more that it could be a real reason for her to realize you won't be compatible. You haven't even met up face to face, feeling free to make a request about what she should wear for you just shows a specific outlook on relationships. Some women enjoy that/expect it or don't care at all, others would run. It would put me off too, not because I think it must mean he's a terrible partner but because it is not important to me personally to dress up a lot and I need a partner who does not expect someone with a high maintenance look. Dating is specifically to see if you are a good match together right?
