The first is saying, “I want to have freedom and not be trapped or controlled.” The second is saying, “If I’m going to be in a relationship, I want a partner who is stable and can handle life like an adult.” It’s about wanting a relationship with someone who brings something to the table. Not someone you have to carry. Wanting the option to rely on someone you trust is very different from being forced to depend on someone with no choice.
