I will admit, currently dealing with this as well. Spent my late teens job hopping for a bit, then got on with a place that i wound up working at for a bit over half a decade. Was more or less on auto-pilot there, and in retrospect getting fired was a god send. Was just mindlessly going to work going home while the months and years passed me by. I saved up a shitload of money due to living cheap and never doing anything, so i'm able to NEET comfortably, but i don't have the first clue what i'm doing with my life.

I wouldn't. You don't owe society shit. If there's someone close to you that you feel useless to, maybe just focus on why you feel that way and what you can do to change it.
