I feel like run clubs are more about socializing than running. Like the 2 run clubs in my city run an easy 5-7K distance and then there is time for socializing afterwards, like both run clubs advertize themselves mainly for "make connections" and "bring a friend".
I would be surprised if there were any serious runners there. I looked at the members on strava and most of them run beginner mileage with beginner paces.
I am a decent runner but I don't think I will get very far trying to discuss interval training at these run clubs.
