Had a survey work firm make me go through the two tiers of interview bullshit, facilitated by HR, two months after applying. First job they wanted me to go on they revealed they had omitted key complications about my pay rate, the location of the work, and commuting expectations.
Every survey firm I've worked for that treated me fairly, was no nonsense about pay/billing, and got me on sensible projects had an "interview" that was a 15 minute rundown with the boss about their projects and expectations and then a verbal handshake.
