Anisa isn’t what I’d call a strong woman. She’s a clout chaser and will do whatever she can get away with to attach herself to someone rich and famous. Ian was a hugless, kissless virgin when they met. Not that there’s anything at all wrong with marrying your first gf, but it explains a lot. He’ll do anything to make her happy, because she’s the first female to give him affection, and she takes advantage of that to control him. I don’t get it myself, but I think she gets off on abusing him, and he gets off on being humiliated. Very strange. But betrayal pisses me off like you wouldn’t believe. There’s nothing I object to about selling out. Sucking Hasan’s terrorist supporting meat for clout is an arguably smart play, since he’s got a massive audience. But putting a knife in the back of the only person on earth that actually cares about you? Nah, that’s disgusting.
