But don't feel too bad about it. You gave it a shot at least. I know how it feels to be worked by something, believing you could've done it better. Admittedly, that's why I waited to join. I ended up joining pretty late. Wouldn't have done well right out of high school though. And civvie life was sucking, so I figured, fuck it, we ball.

Maybe there's a way you can still join, if you haven't passed the cap yet. Or if not the military, some other cool law enforcement job like a game and wildlife warden. Idk.if you're able to get a waiver, the navy or coast guard may take you.

Could always try the French Foreign Legion as well. I tried for it, though left during pre-selection, as I didn't feel ready for that yet, either. It's one thing to talk about it, another thing to actually go there in person. But it was pretty neat, the time I did spend there. The pay isn't great, and neither are the benefits, but it is a hell of an adventure and bragging rights. They'll take men all the way up to 39 1/2
