Unpopular opinion, but I believe racism is generally a response to the environment you're in. Like, even the most ardent White Nationalist isn't really "racist" in the comic book movie villain sense. They see crime, they see rapes and robberies and murders, and they hate it. And then they look at who is doing it, and they hate them for doing it. Yet you're not going to find them just randomly bashing Nepalese tourists or attacking Buddhists. Why? Because those people don't cause problems. They don't burn your cities down and shout racist slogans of their owns while attacking your kids.
Racism is therefore largely pattern recognition. And it's caused by others' bad behaviors.
