And because you also know fine well that the bible has a whole load of morally horrific shit that was acceptable to bronze age warring tribes, you use that as a diversion - so you try to use that as a cover, asking:

If you were Christian, then you would hold onto charity. kindness. empathy. you would help those coming to your country. you would help the poor. you would feed those who are hungry, and you would do so quietly, out of sight. you would not wear your religion to display your piety in public, you would not force it on others. you would act with humility, and compassion.
