Seems like a hyperfixation on nationality. I suppose I could have just said "yes". I don't fetishize other countries (though tall blonde scandinavian chicks make me wanna bark like a dog sometimes). I never understood why people say we are obsessed/ashamed. We literally keep this information as a novelty and put no weight in it. Whereas actual europeans derive so much judgement based on nation/ethnicity. For us it's like "oh you're irish...cool"
