There were Arab paramilitary groups like the black hand and Jewish ones like Lehi, they both targeted each other and the British. Some Arabs refused the UN partition plan and left for neighboring countries which declared war on Israel as soon as it became independent, in order to massacre all Jews there. The Arabs which did not leave are now citizens of Israel.
