the REALLY interesting bit is the ninja himself. He just appears. No explanation, no fanfare, just BAM! He's there, lurking behind the couch with his katana. I’m dying to know what the Japanese characters are in the speech bubbles, are they references to anime or ninja movies? I’m going to look them up now. Okay, I did, the first set of characters translates to “child theft”, while the second means, “Order second festival”, so I don’t really know if they fit in the context of the strip. It’s such a great, absurd visual gag, and the fact that he’s immediately put to work assassinating Lucas upon him saying, “They do?” is perfect timing. Also, the way Lucas gets "fired" from the comic with a literal sword through the chest? Chef's kiss!
