The colors we perceive that aren't in the rainbow like Magenta are a combination of multiple spectrums. Magenta is red and blue wavelengths which are at opposite ends of the visible spectrum.

Magenta doesn't actually exist. It is how the three color photo receptors in our eyes interperet receiving red and blue light simultaneously.
