Really, though, after Biden bailed, what were their options?
She was the VP, black, and a woman, and theoretically the most qualified on their side to take over.
It wouldn't surprise me if the DNC big brains thought it would do more long-term damage to their brand to take it from her than four more years of Trump.
This should have been a moment where one of the democrat billionaires bribed her behind the scenes to drop out for "family reasons" or something and put a white male like Newsom in. It was their only way out.
