He didn't even refute anything from the attached letter, which is confusing. If he isn't claiming there was no first notice, then given this evidence I assume there was.
Seems like he is just trying to mix the termination and defamation lawsuit into one and this is the best they could come up with. Meanwhile their evidence contradicts their own claims.
