Autism is a spectrum and sure most people who are high functioning and have what used to be called Asperger's Syndrome can lead completely normal social lives and be productive members of society, but they were born with the condition just like down syndrome you are born with it, and it is how you are for life. But admittedly doing that to people without mental conditions would be every bit as beneficial You're right about one thing, you get into the lower functioning cases like Chris chan and let them on the internet without proper supervision, then they end up like he did.
