The cost of vehicle repair going up has more to do with vehicle repair insurance becoming more prevalent than whoever happens to be president. Insurance ALWAYS raises costs because it increases the number of people who don't care what they pay and that incentivizes greed. Same thing happened with veterinary costs. Before pet insurance people would have scoffed at a $500 bill for a cat. Now its normal to have paid $1000s and even tens of thousands in the course of a cat's lifetime
