What people don’t grasp is that during the 1990s the vast majority of people didn’t have the latest technology, clothes or cars. If you went back to 1995 in a time machine you would probably think you were in 1985 in most western countries because outside of the mega rich and the affluent parts of capital cities everyone was still years “behind”. It wasn’t like now when any normie can have anything they want on finance, you had to pony up the cash if you wanted something and shit was expensive. A street scene from 30 years ago would typically feature cars from 40-50 years ago and people dressed like we think people in the 80s did
