Limebloods being genocided for pyrokinesis makes little sense considering the other powers trolls can have, unless their weakness is fire similar to how they are weak to their sun. The popular headcanon that Limebloods are pacifiers is better than what Andrew Hussie and the new team came up with, which is probably intentional. The theme of the Beforan Ancestors seems to be to not follow or subvert the fans’ expectations while not being taken too seriously. Some of the new “lore” is kinda lame, like how the Rankmaid only amounts to being a fujoshi, how much of what the Bland Highblood gets is a bunch of unserious jokes, or how the Treeaboo is merely a giant Rufioh reference plus a joke about Peter Pan and Robin Hood without any of Tavros’s interests being mentioned. The artist didn’t even bother to make Tavros’s wings look like Rufioh’s. Vriska and Terezi swapping injuries is okay enough. The fact that everything is the Imposter’s fault is to be expected but why would he choose to pretend to be a Limeblood instead of an Oliveblood outside of thematic connections between Lime and Red? Wouldn’t the others discover his mutation when his iris turns red? At least Beforan Karkat is tied back to Pre-Scratch Kankri. Also, even though everything about the Zoologer Coolscar is thinly-veiled sarcasm and irony, at least Eridan gets to be happy for once.
