Tbh what that Anon isn't mentioning is that the larger part of the fan base jumped off either immediately or shortly post v3 and just has kind of been lurking in fanfiction, dunking on RT, and porn ever since. Sure you alienate the Tumblr/twitter fags but they demonstrably weren't worth shit, and there is a fuck load of people who'd come around for "RWBY but more web and there's no fucking RT anymore", even outside of trying to reignite the Japanese fan base. To say nothing of the buzz of "popular series but it's not shit now/controversy!" For new comers.
