I think most people would agree if the narrative wasn't treating Mabel a lot better than Dipper.
Also they constantly showcased Mabel being able to socialize and get along easier with others compared to everyone else. She was well-liked back home, immediately made friends in Gravity Falls, even got a long easy with all the teens while Dipper struggled.
