>And who you get to do the molding matters.
Of course.
>FUCK THE AUDIENCE! the audience is cattle.
I know people think this is what creatives do but having seen behind the scenes it isn't as much the case as people think. (It does sometimes happen).
>their would not be many if any more Batman fans
So you don't think the animated series made Batman fans? I feel like you've gone over too harshly on Bruce Timm to an extreme?
> their are no "visionary" writers tackling the character
I mean this was part of my point I mentioned earlier that some seminal work needs to be taken to tackle the character and build that.
>They're all to some degree copying or purposefully going in the opposite direction to semi disastrous affect.
In some ways so many comic book characters get caught in the cycle of diminishing returns,Wanda is my go to example because her infamous (and not good) stories influence her direction more than her good past.
>What I'm trying to say... is is that some kind of group will or hive mind of acceptance is determining what these characters are and I beleive that's (not only with WW) why we have all the trash we have today.
Not a hive mind but I am trying to state how people see a character is important, how those perceptions form and how we understand that. I also acknowledged earlier this happens with other characters.
>I'm saying the creators and their vision for what they want to show in a character or in that characters story is what grabs the attention of the larger group.
And I have also stated and acknowledge that the creators can change the perception but they are often caught in the same cycles. Ultimately our positions are not far off, even when it sounds like you think they are.

I just think it is not helpful sometimes to just think (not saying you did this) that people are retarded because it doesn't help explain how to improve a characters direction. We need to understand the full picture.
