barney really didn't have much to it beyond sugary sweet songs and nicities and not much else
blue's clues was at least engaging, and bear was that and some alongside more thoughtful and heartfelt stories and themes without being so saccharine and cloying as to be unbearable
franklin was a more standard cartoon but still leagues barney
Arthur doesn't even deserve to be spoken of in the same breath as barney, it's the GOAT children's pbs cartoon and is unmatched in writing (in the early seasons at least).
