We don't know what happened behind the scenes to judge its success. Apparently the Crewniverse got really messy around S3 through 5 in general with controversy from Lauren Zuke and whatever the fuck. Steven Universe was successful its whole run since CN would've never gave them a movie, a spinoff nor getting yet another new show coming up if it flopped off the face of the planet. Uncle Grandpa and numerous other shows didn't get half of what Steven Universe had.

Doesn't change that Steven Universe was loved. Arguing "special treatment" is delusional levels of cope. There were multiple woke pieces of content from CN that never saw the light of day. If SU was a flop it wouldn't get yet ANOTHER follow up show and a ridiculous amount of games/comics. There's an audience for this.
Also yes. Big Mouth was more popular than it should've been. It unironically has a lot of fans defending it. Steven Universe, despite you and many's seething hatred, had massive star power just like a lot of other shows you deem trash. It objectively got watched and had support otherwise CN would've cancelled it in S2 and left it buried with no Lars of the Stars show.
