I distinctly remember reading an interview with Jim Davis years ago where the interviewer asked him if U.S. Acres was supposed to be set on Jon's parents' farm, and Jim's response was "Oh... That would've been a really good idea..." It still gives me a good chuckle. For what it's worth, I always assumed it was their farm.
