Even that's not too complicated. Golden Age Black Canary became Earth Two Black Canary and then she crossed over into the main universe to become Earth One's Black Canary. Over a decade later, when the Earth Two heroes had aged on account of WW2 being part of their history, they retconned her into being the daughter of the original Canary who thought she was the original to explain why she didn't age up with them.
