If it makes you feel any better as far as general morality goes we are seeing a backlash against wicked shit. Look at how many people blatantly criticize Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Even the Non Religious people see the main characters of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss as unlikable trash. Turns out that people when the chips are down do NOT like evil protagonists who are unrepentant criminals and no amount of Charlie is a Nice Anti Christ is fooling anyone.
