It's crazy how he managed to make a conventional superhero story that wasn't pretentious. He used ASM to tell everyone how he thought a hero should be. And for doing that, you also had to show the kind of things Peter had to deal with in his personal life. Peter trying to maintain his morality while also under the pressure of those troubles are a big lesson. And he wasn't perfect from the get go. This is the kind of thing that you could only expect from an objectivist because of how much they value justice and how idealistic they are about it. You see explicit examples of objectivist ideas in If this be my destiny, but also in other stories like Otto's first appearance. Furthermore, it's obvious that Ditko contributed to Amazing Fantasy 15's plot. He believed that if you could fight for justice then you were obliged to do it. Peter learns that.
