The really baffling thing is the idea that Sandy had been ghosting him and NEVER called and all that, when we SAW her texting and calling Mike in previous chapters.
If one reads back through the comic it's pretty clear that while Mike does wish Sandy and he could talk more frequently, that's been an issue from Volume 1 and hasn't really escalated since. Mike's REAL source of misery and anguish is guilt over Lucy's suicide and Lucy coming back. That was the main focus of his prophetic nightmare, and it was after Lucy reappeared that Mike started being wound so tense he was jumping at his own shadow.
