This idea that Trump has more power over media than executives, producers, sponsors or the internet is absurd. With how big SP is in terms of money making, they would never get cancelled for making fun of Trump, the idea that Paramount gives a fuck the show is doing an entire season that's just Trump jokes is nonsense, they don't care. Colbert's show got cancelled because he has spent the collective last 7 fucking years doing almost nothing but Trump jokes, on a channel and timeslot that used to be dedicated to very casual general funny stuff, Colbert digging so hard on Trump lost nearly all the audience of that thing, it got canned cause it didn't please the execs anymore. SP is just a streamed cartoon that's main hook is doing controversial or wacky stuff, so they can't get in trouble for ripping on Trump.

What they can get in trouble though (and have, numerous times) is upsetting the internet. If the internet catalogs South Park as a right wing nazi show and it starts being considered as that by normies, then the show is instantly over.
