I don't think you grasp that envy can apply to more than romantic partners.
Daisy clearly envies Sandy because Sandy is hot and cool, and Daisy is not. Mike is probably the weakest example, but he does seem jealous that Sandy doesn't have 100% of her mental health and well-being bound up in getting a message every day the way he does, and that she has stuff going on other than pining after him.
