SOME women were, but "a lot"? C'mon. It was a storm in a teacup, just like when people were "outaged" over a fucking nothingburger in Stevenson's She-Ra interview (which was forgotten a week later). There were no massive hoards demanding his head. He could easily have just kept on working and proved his haters' wrong.
This is, I ~do~ think the controversy hurt him! I suspect that he and other WonderStorm writers were so worried about how they looked on Social Media that they overcompensated and were more concerned with their gay rep than with doing what was right for the show. Hence letting two Head Of State Lesbians get married, completely and utterly decimating what had made Callum and Rayla unique.
