If Darwin ended up with Teri, you could have avoided Carrie's flanderization and developed Teri in the Letter by making the conflict center more around Teri being less affectionate due to her germophobia. Teri has reasons to hate Gumball too unlike Carrie who was one of his closest friends since the beginning of the show. Carrie even had less conflict with Gumball than Joe or Tobias. Tobias was also flanderized this season for more jokes about rich people.
