Fun fact, Blue Sky did the 3d animation for the Xenos in Alien Resurrection's underwater setpiece, which is largely considered the standout sequence for the movie (and the one where Ron Perlman almost drowned). Blue Sky's history with Alien goes back a long way.
It still saddens me what happened to Blue Sky. Like Illumination their scripts were overly safe corporate slop, but in terms of technicals and animation they were just as good as Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks. Unfortunately their mediocre story team made it easy for Disney to justify shuttering them.
