The fact that Matilda even entertained the idea of living as a human for as long as she did even if for the sake of stealth mission suggests either she is the most tolerant Red Talon to ever exist, or her scar is from a fight and not of a rite of passage. Likely the latter, considering we saw her use what looked to be either Gift of the Termite or Paper Butterfly, neither of which belong to Red Talons.
