It's just absurdist humor playing on adult animated shows that have their deep episodes and trying to make their own Jurassic Bark. It's parodying shit like Rick & Morty, Adventure Time, or NORMAL WORDS BUT A HORSE GUY. The serious moment with his father, the spiritual moment, the abstract ending, the pretentious title of the episode are all meant to play into that joke, that they're doing all of this serious stuff for what is an inherently absurd and irredeemable character.
Like Always Sunny, except Sunny played it straight and actually was intending to be deep and pretentious.
In short, there's no actual message, it's just an absurdist story pretending to have one.
