another thing i don't like about her appearance in Titans. even in what i think is her previous appearance - the shitty Punchline extra story glued to the back of the 2021 The Joker ongoing - she was headed cleanly and firmly in the "getting better" direction and was only in prison (as a lackey to a plot that amounts to high school girl drama in a women's prison - the book is ass, the Punchline story is also ass) because she'd been somehow framed off-panel beforehand.

it feels like the Titans writer just pulled her name from a list and brought the Whale Enders back (and had them back doing petty and/or mercenary crime). it implicitly erased EIGHT YEARS of Orca's character development for a cameo as a jobber. there's no setup, she's just there, doing crimes.

she hadn't been with the Whale Enders since fucking 2017.
