To take a simpler example : I remember in the 90s in Marvel comics they're were trying to play with balloons and lettering, but then just stop. Mysterio got his green clouds, Delilah - some italics stuff, Conundrum puzzle boxes etc
Some swirls is also nice, where a person just falls asleep And of course, I can't remember or find that example
