not really,new sites pop up for the few taken down and and honestly most scanlations are preferable to a lot of published ones because they're subject to the official translator's personal quirks. Not to say there's not plenty of decent ones, but plenty of big manga are still subject to questionable translations.
Thing is, a volume publication of current comics also wouldn't sell by your own measure because, like you said, most people don't want to read them anyway.
