It used to be so easy for these franchises to dip into multimedia outlets. Just make some basic platformer, put it out for cheap, and a kid was bound to play it and grow up thinking, "muh childhood".

Now they still make these shitty platformers but they have to compete with f2p models like Fortnite and Roblox. There are people out there who know of the Ducktales game but never watched the show(s) or read any comics. Can't do that now. Only one way to be profitable (ads) and now people just pirate because there's too many streaming options. Sad.
