Okay not to side with the lolicon but CP wasn't banned for the morally objectionable nature of the content itself. It was banned because most of it was made via human trafficking at a time before the digital era enabled amateur porn and the only way to get your hands on it was to buy it, supporting the further trafficking and molesting of of children.
This is why bestiality porn is legal to view despite being just as morally disgusting. Because anyone can buy a fucking dog, there's no big trafficking ring to hurt by banning distribution and possession.
