-some writer (i can't remember who) had beast claim he was gay (years before bendis made iceman gay)
-during AvX beast gets tortured by dark beast while DB was working for norman osborn. beast gets back from being tortured and no one gave a fuck. thing is, magneto had shown up and was saying cyclops was great and feeding rightclops ego
-writers have bishop chase cable through time and have bishop napalm the entire continent of south america so cyclops can be right and beast can be wrong. cyclops had told beast to press the button to destroy bishop with a chrono-bomb. when cyclops did that, he put his fingers on his visor which is the exact same as putting a finger on the trigger and threatening your oldest teammate and friend.
-rightclops starts a death squad and keeps it a secret from everyone. keeping beast, a former avenger, out of the loop so beast wouldn't have an explanation if the death squad gets out of hand and avengers come asking questions
-nightcrawler vows after finding out that something was going on behind closed doors that he would confront cyclops about it. nightcrawler then conveniently dies
***i should say if you liked Age of Apocalypse, a good follow up would be to read uncanny x-force, when a lot of this happens. UXF is well regarded by pretty much everyone ***
-UXF is disbanded, then brought together again when wolverine runs it. wolverine decides to not only keep secrets from beast, but he also decides to recruit dark beast for a mission without telling regular beast. later beast smells violence and blood on wolverine and wolverine doesn't lie about it and beast then confronts cyclops about it but writers never show what's said between them afterward
-bendis becomes a writer for x-men and has beast gut-check cyclops because he's becoming more like magneto. he goes in to the past and brings back the original x-men as teenagers. then everyone votes to keep them in the present but beast is still blamed
