Cybertronians are by nature built to change into things of particular mass
We have big boys like megs and prime small fellas like cliffjumper and bumbleshit,medium guys like sunstreaker and jazz,then you have starscreams and skywarp and finally guys like tidalwave
They need to find an alt mode that fits into the mass and maybe dimensions/shape they are
Then shifting of tiny panels happens so they can take shape
But then you remember that shit like broadside exists and you realise that either triple changers are blasphemy against laws of physics or its a show based around unconnected toy brands that expanded into a series
